Grieving Hearts Yoga
Join Our 8-Week Virtual Program for Grief Support - Fall 2025
So, you’ve lost someone or something that mattered. Your nervous system is fried, your emotions are all over the map, and you’re tired of hearing “just give it time.” Welcome to Grieving Hearts Yoga—a research-based, practical, and slightly irreverent program designed for real people navigating real grief.
What Is Grieving Hearts Yoga?
Grieving Hearts Yoga is an 8-week virtual program crafted for adults who are experiencing grief and want something more than just talking about it. We blend gentle movement, breathwork, and community, all delivered with a healthy dose of compassion and zero pressure to “move on.” This isn’t your average yoga class—think of it as nervous system rehab meets group therapy, minus the awkward silences and with way more props (yes, you can use your couch cushions).
Why Join This Pilot?
Be part of something new: This is a pilot project, which means you get to help shape the future of grief support.
Feel less alone: Twice a week, you’ll connect with a small group of fellow grievers who actually get it.
Move your body, not just your feelings: Our trauma-informed approach helps you process loss in a way that includes your whole self—body, mind, and spirit.
Science meets real life: We’re investigating how yoga helps with nervous system regulation and emotional outcomes—so you’ll be contributing to research that could help others down the road1.
The Details
When: Mid-October to mid-December 2025 (8 weeks)
Where: Online via Zoom (pants optional, but recommended)

Session length: 55 minutes of yoga + 20 minutes of community sharing
Who: Adults (18+) who’ve experienced significant loss and can participate in gentle movement

What to Expect
Weekly Themes: From “Meeting Grief in the Body” to “Building Resilience” and “Sustainable Practice,” each week offers new tools and practices (plus plenty of permission to just show up as you are)1.
Safety First: Trauma-informed, polyvagal theory-based, and designed for all bodies and abilities. We’ll help you set up your space and adapt everything for your comfort1.
Community: Expect laughter, tears, and the occasional pet cameo. You’ll have space to share, or not share, as much as you want.

Meet Your Guide: Glenda
If you’re wondering who’s behind Grieving Hearts Yoga (and whether she’s more “woo-woo” or “where’s the research?”), let’s pull back the curtain:
Glenda is your classic midlife multi-hyphenate:
Yoga teacher with over a decade of teaching experience and three decades of personal practice (yes, she remembers the days before yoga mats came in “millennial pink”).
Trained in a variety of yoga styles, she’s got over 1,000 hours of formal training in yoga, philosophy, and anatomy—so she knows her way around both a downward dog and a research paper.
Currently a yoga therapist candidate, this group pilot is part of her practicum, meaning you get the benefit of her up-to-the-minute training and her signature blend of wisdom and wit.
But wait, there’s more!
Glenda is also a registered psychotherapist specializing in grief and trauma, a grief educator, and a death doula. She’s spent the last ten years supporting people who are dying and their loved ones through the sacred (and sometimes messy) transitions of end-of-life.
Her teaching style? Accessible, down-to-earth, and always focused on helping you down-regulate your nervous system so you can actually thrive—not just survive—in the world.
She loves building classes around themes that spark self-awareness, curiosity, and compassion. Think of it as yoga for real life and real bodies, not just for Instagram.
What does this mean for you?
Expect a trauma-informed, polyvagal theory-savvy, and research-backed approach to embodied grief support.
Glenda’s sessions are designed for all bodies and all levels of experience. She’s a master at adapting practices to meet you exactly where you are—on the mat, on the couch, or somewhere in between.
You’ll get a blend of gentle movement, breathwork, and community connection, all delivered with a healthy dose of humour and a deep respect for the complexity of grief.
Bottom line:
You’re in caring, capable, and relatable hands. Glenda’s blend of expertise, empathy, and just the right amount of irreverence makes her the ideal guide for this unique journey through grief, movement, and healing
