Psychotherapy

Therapy provides a safe space to heal from the past, connect to your inner wisdom, and transform your life.

Understanding Therapy
Therapy is a supportive journey toward personal growth and healing. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, or simply seeking deeper self-awareness, therapy can help. Through embodied psychotherapy, we explore how your body, mind, and emotions interact, fostering resilience and clarity.

Approach
We focus on integrating somatic awareness and contemplative practices to help you reconnect with yourself. This holistic approach is designed to empower you to navigate life's challenges with greater ease.

Glenda is a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO #7809). She is also an active clinical member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Practitioners. She works with clients in both Ontario and Saskatchewan.

All sessions are held via Zoom.

Current RateS:

I believe in the efficacy of therapy and wish to support people willing to invest in their wellness. My goal is to ensure mental health support is accessible to those who want/need it and my rates reflect this commitment.

The session rate: $110/session (effective Jan 1, 2024)

I do have a limited sliding scale for those in need. We can talk about it during our consultation. A free consultation is required before booking a session to ensure that Glenda is a good fit to meet your needs in therapy.

Insurance:

Many insurance companies cover psychotherapy. If yours does, you can submit your receipt for reimbursement. I do not, at this time, offer direct billing. Please check your insurance coverage as different plans cover different services.

The Wisdom of Our Bodies

Our Inner Sense of Self/Soul/Spirit/Higher Power/Daimon is grace/calm/peace. Then it is placed in the human body. Through our human experiences, we develop strategies to cope, adapt, and survive. And many of these strategies add layers and layers between our Self and the outer world to protect it from the harshness of life's challenges.

Often Self can be obscured from even our own knowing until the layers become unravelled. When our Mind and our Body and our Self come into alignment and we move in this world as one (even for moments at a time) - this is embodiment.

This is freedom.

Peace becomes the way.

Contemplative Wisdom

A contemplative approach to psychotherapy asks us to start to examine how we feel, what we notice, and what this means for us in the here and now. With additional psycho-dynamic and somatic-based techniques, the energy in our bodies is given space to be felt, moved, and released.

Can clients become the compassionate support that they need to heal their wounds and create a meaningful, happy and healthy life?

Glenda’s approach is based on the core values of curiousity, compassion, calm, connection, and courage. She offers a non-judgmental, safe space to explore the deep caverns of your inner psyche so you can become aware of your patterns, heal from your past, and create sustainable change in your life in the present.

Video-Based Therapy/Counselling

Long before this global pandemic introduced many to online services, Glenda began offering video-based counselling and found it to be a very effective way to do therapy. And the research backs up her experience. The research to date has shown no significant difference in the therapeutic working alliance developed online vs in person.

Relationships are built on connection. Trust can be built online as it can in person. Technology today allows for secure video-conferencing that provides real-time visual and audio connections. All that is required is a reliable Internet connection; a phone, iPad or computer; and a setup that allows for privacy. Headphones are helpful too.

Online therapy sessions can provide an alternative to in-person sessions for those:

  • who travel or aren’t always able to come to an office,

  • who have mobility or accessibility issues,

  • who live in a community where access to resources is limited,

  • who resonate with a therapist that doesn’t live close by,

Online therapy allows for more flexibility for both the therapist and clients. My clients receive the same level of service, confidentiality, and support.
