Embodied Therapeutic Yoga

Typically therapeutic yoga is an approach to yoga that focuses on using the practice of yoga to address specific health concerns and promote overall well-being. It involves tailoring yoga techniques to meet the individual needs of practitioners, with the goal of improving physical, mental, and emotional health. In group settings, it is again often targeting specific goals and offering a variety of access points for individuals, making it accessible.

Mind-Body Connection: Therapeutic yoga emphasizes the connection between the mind and body. It often incorporates mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork to promote relaxation and reduce stress.

Healing Intent: The primary objective of therapeutic yoga is to support healing. It can be used as a complementary approach to conventional medical treatments for various health conditions or as a preventive measure to maintain overall health.

Holistic Approach: Therapeutic yoga takes a holistic approach, considering the whole person—physical, mental, and emotional aspects. It recognizes the interconnectedness of various aspects of well-being.

Self-Care and Empowerment: Practitioners of therapeutic yoga are encouraged to take an active role in their well-being. The practice empowers individuals to listen to their bodies, understand their needs, and make choices that support their health.

Overall, therapeutic yoga is a versatile practice that can be adapted to various individuals, making it accessible to people with different abilities and health conditions. It's important for individuals seeking therapeutic yoga to consult with qualified instructors or healthcare professionals to ensure that the practice is safe and beneficial for their specific needs.
